For homeowners
Tell us about your building project
Describe the job and, with your agreement, we'll pass it to up to three suitable local builders so they can contact you to quote.
- Free, with no obligation to go ahead with anyone.
- We look for checked builders who cover your borough, nearest first, and never share your details with more than three.
- If no checked builder covers your area yet, we'll tell you, rather than send someone from the other side of London.
- We can't promise how quickly, or whether, a builder will reply. It depends on who's available for your type of job.
We’re building our network of local builders borough by borough, so we can’t cover every area yet. Listing and matching are free. Why we match locally · How it works and our fair rules
London Builders introduces homeowners to independent builders through this page. Those builders aren’t employed by London Builders, and London Builders doesn’t carry out the work they quote for or guarantee it. Agree a written contract directly with the builder you choose, and read our tips on spotting a rogue builder first.
What happens next
- We look for checked builders who take on your type of work and cover your borough, nearest first, using our fair rules. Nobody can pay to be put forward.
- We pass your details to up to three of them and email you who they are, or tell you if we can't find anyone local yet.
- They contact you directly. Ask each for a written, itemised quote and compare them.
Before you agree anything, check the builder's details yourself, for example on TrustMark or Companies House, and read Citizens Advice's checklist.
Photos and drawings can be shared later with the builders who contact you.
