An extension is often the best way to get a bigger kitchen, a family room or an extra bedroom without moving. We build them from the ground up: foundations, drainage, walls, steels, roof and the first fix for electrics and plumbing.
Types of extension we build
- Single-storey rear extensions to open up a kitchen and dining space.
- Side-return extensions, the classic way to widen a narrow London terrace kitchen.
- Wrap-around extensions that combine the side return and the rear.
- Two-storey extensions for an extra bedroom above a larger ground floor.
- Garage conversions and extensions where there's space to the side.
What's included
We agree the scope in writing before work starts. A typical extension covers groundworks and foundations, drainage, blockwork and brickwork, structural steels to the engineer's design, the roof, windows and doors, insulation, first-fix services, plastering and the handover to building control.
Before you start
Many single-storey extensions fall under permitted development, but not all. Read our guide, Do you need planning permission for a house extension?, and the one on party walls.
